The Lost City – Petra

Petra is one of the new seven wonders of the world.

By any chance if you venture out to Jordan, this lost city would be an inevitable part of your itinerary. This city was the capital of the Nabatean Kingdom dating back to 300 B.C, which was both rich and powerful. Spread across over 100 square miles, it will amaze us with a variety of  structures with carved facades on to the mountains; which includes temples, tombs, theatre, monasteries and many more.

If I must say the major highlights are; The 1.2km narrow passage through the canyon is undoubtedly one of the highlights of Petra, The view of Al-Khazneh (Treasury plaza) would be the next in line, Ad Deir (Monastery) and the climb of 800+ steps to reach there is totally worth it, Royal tombs, Temple of Dushares are waiting to be explored.

Petra is vast and the list goes on.
